News For the Week

Please keep Mary Ferguson in your prayers. She is having knee replacement surgery tomorrow.

Choir Rehearsal will be held tomorrow at 11 am and Lunch following.

God’s Work Our Hands Outreach Ministry will be held this Thursday, March 5 from 8:30 am til 10:30

am. If you would like to volunteer, please meet at St. John’s at 8:00 am.

Cemetery Clean-up: The Cemetery Committee will be cleaning up the Cemetery before Easter. If you have

flowers that you want to keep, please clean off the flowers before March 22.

Join us at St. John’s Lutheran Church for our Wednesday Lenten Services

at Noon in the Chapel and a light lunch following in Saints Hall.

Easter Lily- Sign-up Sheets are located at both side entrances for Easter Lilies. The cost is $13.00. The last

day to sign up is March 16.

Blankets for the Homeless- First United Methodist Church is collecting new and slightly used blankets for

the homeless and less fortunate in our community. Let’s join with them to help those in need. They will be

working with the Cherryville Fire and Police Department to distribute also where needed on calls they respond

to. Drop off blankets at our church or make a donation to purchase one. Thank you for your support. The Eaker

family will be doing a Thrivent team to help collect blankets, so join us and drop off by March 22.

Music Director

St. John’s Lutheran Church, Cherryville is seeking a Part-Time Music Director and Organist. The Music Director’s job description will include responsibilities coordinating Sunday worship, directing weekly rehearsals, selecting music, preparing worship materials, collaborating with the pastor on weekly and seasonal services, providing leadership for special events, assisting with church functions such as VBS, and encouraging choir and handbell volunteers.

Candidates should demonstrate a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, musical proficiency, strong communication and organizational skills, and a commitment to teamwork. Experience with blended worship & audio/visual background, preferred.
